What is the cost to frame a picture?
As a framer, this is the most frequently asked question by customers and the most difficult to answer.
The price can range from seventy-five dollars to several hundred dollars, depending on moulding, glass and mat choices. Size does not always mean that you will be spending more or less. A small picture can cost the same as a large poster, depending on the materials and techniques involved in the framing process.
To help visualize the price of framing, I have been working on framing one postcard in twelve different styles, including a variety of price points. In this series I will be working with a Zentangle® inspired artwork "Pomegranate" by Maria Thomas and Rick Roberts with the motivational sentiment "Grow your Creativity as you would a seed in you garden."
